So much of what we see nowadays is computer generated and not drawn with the skill and human touch of something with soul. Drawing is the oldest and most difficult of art skills, to get an image from your eyes to the paper with precision and perfection, and then add the unmistakable style that is yours and yours alone. I have studied a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Drawing)....and just love drawing so much. I hope you enjoy my work....
My greatest motivation and inspiration is my curly haired little boy. He gives me purpose and depth, and a sense of selflessness and love, deep and enduring, unconditional, real and honest. Nothing compares to being a mother, and nothing is more precious than her baby. My art and the emotion and connection I have with the language, is greatly influenced by the beautiful joy of our life together.
Creating art for myself, and others is a great honour. To witness life and to be able to document moments in colour and line is intensely satisfying. Sometimes euphoric, sometimes cathartic, other times disturbing. Emotionally, reproducing someone who has passed, a loved animal, is intensely moving. All I can say is that when I am drawing or painting, I lose all connection with time, and pass into a meditative place of inspiration and energy.......that is what the gift of creativity does for all artists.
Always, Karina.
