Years and years and years of sinuous, rigorous ballet training, and still many girls do not make the cut to be a showgirl. They must b 5'8" at least and posses long legs, beauty, dance technique, gorgeous costumes, elegance and grace, and like most artists, often, the glamour of the show isn't the reality of their actual life, Restricted food intake, long painful hours of learning choreography with poise and skill, 'tipping' and gracing with glittery splendor, adorned with feathers and rhinestones, in an unattainable way- and they MUST be unattainable. There has always been a fascination for me with the showgirl, but sadly, many strip clubs, escort services and topless dancers have diluted their beautiful craft. For a little girl looking at a showgirl is mesmerizing, truly magical, oh so feminine and elegant. Their goddess like image is a fantasy filled with colour and curvaceousness.
